Annual and Frequent Inspections for Underbridge and Aerial Equipment

Annual and Frequent Inspections

Annual or yearly inspections for Underbridge and Aerial Equipment is an important and required function. Consists of an operational, visual, and somewhat mechanic inspection of the vehicle-mounted unit without having to disassemble it. This is done on an annual basis in addition to daily, weekly, monthly, three-month, and 6-month maintenance as outlined in the owner’s manual. Under ANSI Regulation A92.22-2018, inspections are performed using a checklist created by the manufacturer. These records must be retained. Bolts must be torqued to specification. Pins, bushings, hydraulic lines, and electrical circuits must be checked. The booms are looked over and checked for cracks in the welds.
